Town Halls & Forums
Open public conversations where Albertans can hear different perspectives and ask questions directly.

About Let’s Talk Alberta
Let’s Talk Alberta is a citizen-led organization dedicated to facilitating informed public discussion about Alberta’s constitutional, economic, and political future. We believe Albertans deserve a forum where the strongest cases on every side of the issues facing our province can be heard, examined, and debated openly.
Our Purpose
We are not a political party. We are not a campaign organization. We do not exist to advocate for a single outcome on any question.
Our purpose is educational: to give Albertans the information, the speakers, and the space to think through these questions for themselves.
What We Do
We host public town halls and forums across Alberta featuring speakers from a range of perspectives, moderated debates between participants who disagree, panel discussions, interviews, and Q&A sessions where audience members are encouraged to challenge what they hear.
Our events are designed for people who want to wrestle with hard questions in good faith — not to be told what to conclude, but to hear the strongest arguments and decide on their own.
Open public conversations where Albertans can hear different perspectives and ask questions directly.
Moderated discussions that bring differing views into the same conversation.
Opportunities to question speakers, examine arguments, and explore difficult issues in greater depth.
Written commentary, interviews, and educational material published through the website and newsletter and made available at events.
Multiple Perspectives
We actively invite speakers and participants who hold views opposed to one another.
Where a speaker on one side of a question accepts an invitation, we extend an invitation to a speaker on the other. Where opposing voices decline, we say so publicly and keep the invitation open.
Beyond the Events
We also publish written commentary, interviews, and educational material on this website, distribute material through our newsletter, and make educational resources available to attendees at our events.
Who We Are
Let’s Talk Alberta is seeking status as a non-profit society. We are governed by a board of directors and operate under bylaws that commit us to our educational mission.
Our financial affairs are managed by an independent Chief Financial Officer who maintains separate records and bank accounts for the organization.
We are funded by donations from individual Albertans and Canadians who believe in the value of open, informed public conversation about our province’s future.
About Donations
Donations to Let’s Talk Alberta fund our educational operations: venue rental, speaker honoraria and travel, audiovisual production, website hosting, and administration.
Every dollar goes to making our forums possible.
Let’s Talk Alberta is not a registered charity. Donations to the Society are not eligible for a charitable tax credit, and they are not eligible for the Alberta political contribution tax credit.
We are clear about this up front because we believe donors deserve accurate information about the tax treatment of their contributions.
We maintain contemporaneous records of all donations, including donor name, address, amount, and date. Donor information is treated in accordance with our Privacy Policy and is not sold or shared.
