Introduction

We're very pleased to present a special evening of discussion in Springbrook on Friday, October 16 featuring Christopher Scott, Kathy Flett, Donna Purcell, and another panelist (to be announced.)

We know that there will be a lot of great discussion here. Please be prepared to submit your questions in a written format.

Christopher Scott

Christopher Scott is an Alberta entrepreneur, small-business owner, and political activist best known for the Whistle Stop Café in Mirror, Alberta.

Mr. Scott gained national attention in 2021 when he reopened the café in defiance of provincial COVID-19 public-health restrictions, becoming a prominent figure in debates over individual liberty, government authority, and the rights of small-business owners. He was subsequently acquitted of all charges brought against him under Alberta's Public Health Act in connection with the pandemic restrictions.

Since then, Mr. Scott has continued his political and civic advocacy, focusing on Alberta's economic future, provincial autonomy, and constitutional questions. He serves as CEO of Let's Talk Alberta, a grassroots initiative that organizes public town halls to encourage Albertans to discuss the province's future, and has been identified as a director of the Alberta Prosperity Society.

Through his business and public advocacy, Scott has become a recognizable voice in Alberta's ongoing discussions about freedom, government accountability, and the province's relationship with Canada.

Kathy Flett

Kathy Flett: A True-Blue Alberta Voice for Independence

Born and raised in Alberta, Kathy Flett grew up with a deep love for her province. As a teenager, she was introduced to The Alberta Report—a moment that opened her eyes to perspectives beyond what she had learned in school.

It planted the early seeds of independent thinking, though it would take decades before they truly took root.

In the fall of 2019, when the opportunity to do something finally came, Kathy jumped in with both feet. The journey hasn’t been easy—navigating a steep learning curve—but it’s been worth every step. Now, she’s ready to share what she’s learned with anyone curious about Alberta’s path forward.

Kathy will walk us through how we got here—and what options we have if we’re ready to take action.
